| Wyatt Knott has gotten a late start on the rodeo circuit but he's doing well enough to help support himself and his Nana. She raised him after his parents died and has always been supportive. Wyatt finds that the pick-up rider for the Marchville Rodeo is his hero, Cam Chester. Someone seems to be trying to kill or at least hurt Cam. It gets Wyatt's protective feelings flowing along with the desire he's felt for years for The Professor of the rodeo circuit.
Barrie Abalard continues to hook me with her storylines with suspense, romance and hot eroticism. Her characters are well built. Cam is well done as a gay man willing to tolerate getting bashed by others on the rodeo circuit for his sexual preference. Wyatt in contrast hides his preference behind liaisons with women publicly but private desires and casual sex with men. She starts the men off with casual sex after Cam is attacked but they grow on one another. It takes some learning to trust but they begin to build something more than either have ever had before in a lover. All of this is woven amidst the mystery of who is trying so hard to hurt Cam. I like the way Ms. Abalard builds this story with information about the rodeo circuit and challenges for the cowboys who love it. There are some excellent scenarios both erotic and not. The confrontation with the crazy gay hating villain is great. This is well worth the read.
