On a visit to Chiloé Island, Isabel is fascinated by the legend of El Trauco, a forest troll who seduces young women. Soon she is dreaming about the alluring supernatural creature and when her fantasies aren't enough, she locates her mythical lover. After the euphoric encounter, will Isabel get her happily-ever-after?

This is definitely a grown up interpretation of a legend -- I don't recall any of the trolls from my childhood threatening a five-alarm forest fire. The descriptions were fantastic and completely transported me to the lush island where I truly believed in the local myths and I found myself embracing the legend. I'm not sure that I could overcome El Trauco's past and actions as easily as Isabel did. I'm not sure I could balance the dream with reality. Don't get me wrong I'm sure I would have given in to his powerful seductions in the forest and the love scenes were steamy. I felt as if I never really connected with either the hero or the heroine of this story. This story had loads of steamy scenes and if you are looking for a brief escape from reality this is a good choice.
