I was so excited when I first saw this book. It drew me in straight from the blurb and kept me in its thrall through the story. I was sad to see it end so soon. It has been a long time since I read a book I couldn"t put down. The plot was well developed and ran smoothly back and forth between the past and the present. The suspense is in the book is secondary to Ronnie and Lucius's story. The story is so touching and the love the characters have for each other is almost a tangible thing. Lucius is wonderful as the hero in the story, gay or not, everyone should have a man like him in their lives. He just loves and cherishes Ronnie and gives him unconditional love no matter what. Ronnie is also well written, sweet and loving, and while he likes Lucius taking care of him, can also take care of himself. There is plenty of sultry sex between the two men, it well written and the author keeps the love and respect the characters have for each other in perspective throughout it. This a wonderful book for those of us who want to believe it the power of love, and long for that one person who will accept us no matter who or what we are.
