| On her way home for Christmas, a sudden snow storm has Gina stopping at a mysterious Inn that has a sweet little lady running it. What she never dreams is that her ex-fiancé Luke, the man she ran out on when she caught him in bed with another woman, has also been forced to take refuge at the same inn. After a glass of wine, Gina awakes to find Luke a sleep at her side, which is a shock. But nothing can compare to Luke waking up and claiming his name to be John and the year is 1778. How can she survive in a time with no microwaves, no indoor plumbing, and no running water? But even more than that, how can she correct the horrible mistake she made with Luke? Can they truly find a second chance? Or is it to late?
This is a well-written time-travel romance. Ms. Champagne creates a world that truly outlines the hardships of the time. She draws the reader in and makes them feel every emotion, every feeling, and every hardship that Gina and Luke go through and throws in a little suspense to stir it all up. I loved this story as it had it all and leaves the reader hoping that second chances are possible and that some wrongs can be righted. I would highly recommend this one to anyone looking for an excellent read and hope to read more from this wonderful author in the future.
