Welcome back to Orchard Hill, a small town where two town legends are determined to prove who the best matchmaker of their hometown is. Misty Green and Pansy Parker are rivals in matchmaking and have decided to keep up with which has the most success during the upcoming year. Both women have incredible idiosyncrasies and, as the series progresses, we find out more about both of them.

Misty’s cousin’s daughter, Angel, came to visit her after the death of her mother. She was scheduled to meet with several of the local shop owners about supplying her artistic creations for them. Not only did she paint beautiful landscapes, she made one-of-a-kind holiday cards—in this case, Valentine’s Day. While we are introduced to Angel in this book, we begin to find old friends whom we met in the book written previously by Ms. Russell (Saving Gracie).

Jeff Bradley was newly established in his real estate business. When he received a phone call from a former college roommate, he was less than thrilled. Tony asked that Jeff look out for his sister (Angel) while she was visiting since, at 22 years of age, she had led a very sheltered life. Instantly, Misty decided that Jeff and Angel belonged together. That did not calm the storms in Jeff’s relationship with Susan.

The characters are marvelously written, the plot is outstanding, and the sub characters are, not only memorable, but also perfect compliments to the main couple. The two older women whose matchmaking skills scattered havoc throughout the town were so typically eccentric and overbearing that it was hilarious to read.

Ms. Russell never ceases to amaze me with her writing skills. She has written this second offering in the “Orchard Hill Series” in such a way that it left me anxiously awaiting the next installment. The concept is one of the best I’ve ever read and I’m honored to be able to review this selection.

Don’t miss this book, and be sure to pick up the series as it becomes available. You definitely won’t be sorry. This is another great job, Ms. Russell.
