| When Johann is told by the vampire oracle that he much go to Paris to meet his life mate, he is doubtful. He has long given up on the hope that he would ever find his life mate and has no wish to move from his comfortable home to Paris. He will travel and possess his mate but he will never love her. Kira is surprised when the powerful Johann arrives at her home and claims to be her mate. She is even more surprised when his equally powerful and handsome brother shows up and wants to join the fun.
This story has some very explicitly hot love scenes and appealing characters but is a little low on plot. This story does seem to be leading to a series and is an adequate introduction as such. Kira is a strong character, a leader who refuses to be submissive in front of her people and is leery of Johann for this reason. Johann is surprised by his feelings for Kira. His idea of not loving her goes completely out of his head. He and his brother had shared women in the past, but Kira was never tempted by her former lover into this sort of situation, but the thought of both Johann and his brother Lucius excites her. Lucius is a little sad, he seems to have lost all of his loves, he would like a life mate like his brother but is afraid to go out and find her. Diablo, Kira’s sire, is in the same situation, but in his case his still loves Kira. He left because he knew that he was not her life mate. Their search together should lead to some interesting stories in the future.
