Eternally His, book two in the d’Argent Honor series, begins only three weeks into Claude’s and Marissa’s honeymoon. Alex is still recovering from the wounds he received in Buenos Aries, so Stefan is called upon to join Claude in chasing down and destroying the evil Louis Reynard, a/k/a The Fox. This time the arrogant Reynard has given them the name and address of his next victim prior to her murder. He plans to outsmart them by moving up his usual time frame and killing her at the crescent moon.

Stefan d’Argent, Claude’s four hundred fifty year-old nephew, has spent the past couple hundred years a recluse in his castle. He was still mourning his human lover who’d died in the process of turning her. Stefan has sworn to never take such a risk again. That was before he met Reynard’s next victim, Julie Quill, whom he may have to seduce in order to protect her. The Fox is too old and too strong for any of them to defeat him alone. Stefan and Claude must wait for Alex to join them before they take on Reynard. They are vampires born and much stronger than any made vampire. Claude, though their uncle, is only seventy-five and must still yet be protected until he is old enough to come into his full powers.

Eternally His is another triumph for Ms. Jacobs. It is as fascinating a read as Vampire Justice, Book 1 of the d’Argent Honor series. My heart broke for Stefan and Julie, obviously fated to be mated, but Stefan’s fear of taking blood from a human and refusal to turn Julie caused the both of them so much suffering. However, all that angst seemed to make the sex between them even hotter. Each time had to be a perfect memory to be saved for the miserable ever after, when they had to go their separate ways and live the rest of their lives alone. They poured out their love and their lust for each other at every opportunity. If only Julie could make Stefan see what she’s already realized. She’d rather risk death than face the rest of her life without him. I have truly enjoyed reading this delightfully erotic series about the delicious d’Argent men finding love and their mates while on the trail of a vicious and cunning, rogue vampire serial murderer. Don’t miss any of the d’Argent Honor series.
