| Jessie Garrett is a half demon who can eat souls and send them to hell. She has a vampire boyfriend who is currently out of the country and out of contact with no explanation, and a sexy demon to whom she owes a debt. Her friends have no idea what she is or what she can do. She is constantly struggling to hide the paranormal aspects of her life. The demon gives her an opportunity to be free of her debt, but it requires her to send the soul of a werewolf to hell. She only sends evil souls there and a sexy werewolf complicates her life even further.
This story is an interesting take on the usual paranormal romance. Jessie's powers as a half demon are unique and pretty awesome. She is pretty inventive at hiding her powers from her ghost hunting human buddies and it is fun to see how she hides the paranormal from them, particularly explaining away Jeremy and his intrusion into her life. The plot is interesting and full of action and excitement and there are some pretty humorous moments here and there. The characters both paranormal and mundane are realistic and interesting. I felt like I could picture each and every one of them. Ms. Abshire has created a world parallel to ours but entirely different. She makes you wonder what is really out there that we don't know about.
