Giovanna Petrizzo thought for certain a boyfriend should be dependable, caring, and very handsome, but it appears Jesse may not be as loyal as she would like. After Dante, her twin brother, decides to run for student body president, and Jesse becomes campaign person for the opponent, Giovanna sees exactly where Jesse’s loyalties lie. With only one thing left to do, she says adios to Jesse and enlists as Dante’s campaign manager. In no time she regrets her actions. Not only does she have to find a way to win Jesse back, but beating the mayor’s son at school politics. Jesse has his hands full when he decides to help campaign against Dante. He had no idea that Giovanna would dump him when he supports someone other than her brother. As Giovanna pitches in with the race, she soon realizes the headache it can cause. In no time she wants to forget any loyalty or stupid election. All she desires is Jesse back and hopes more than anything he will accept her with open arms.

How To Take the Ex out of Ex-Boyfriend is a most delightful read. I think it is very amusing and has some fine points that are often comical making the read further enjoyable. Giovanna is like any teenager that is trying to fit in while trying to hold onto a boyfriend, yet keep close ties with her brother. I like the way Janette Rallison brings out even though Dante and Giovanna are not identical twins they still have a way of connecting. She gives the siblings a bond between them that makes the story an even better read. Young refreshing characters with some wit and courage to stand in what they believe makes this an outstanding story for any age. Well done!
