Nathan and Jamie are two men who meet in a chance encounter. The two men couldn’t be more different. But could their differences mean that they are more compatible than the men they usually date? Could they be the exception to the rule? Tattoos and business suits don’t usually mix but Nathan and Jamie are out to show that the combination is a hot one.

This is a delightful story about how a man can go into a situation expecting yet another boring night and come out with something he never expected. I liked the title and how it conveyed how there are always exceptions to every rule. Nathan is really uptight and while he is gay, he isn’t "out" at the office. This makes him tense about things when he meets Jamie. Jamie looks like a bad boy, tattoos and piercings. But he's really a caring and sweet man who has had his share of hook ups and is now looking for more than a one night stand. I liked that Nathan’s uptightness was one of the driving factors of Jamie’s attraction. I can relate to the need to mess up the façade. Both characters are well written and fully fleshed, their different personalities mesh well and they have the same core values. It’s not a question of how on earth this would ever work in the real world. While this is not a new idea in a story, the authors have managed to breathe fresh air into it with their smoothly flowing plot and sensual erotic scenes. One is so fantastic that I don’t think I will ever forget it. I love M/M erotica and Fae Sutherland and Marguerite Labbe have written a story that will be in my top reads of the year.
