Nicky is a private detective spending her time shadowing spouses having affairs, fairly boring and routine stuff for a P.I. She wants more; the nitty, gritty REAL challenging detective work. When she gets her next assignment and tells her boss that she wants some of the meaty work, he gives her one of the ultra-special Red Folders, meaning the ultra hot jobsand hot is what happens to Nicky, at the first sight of her new clients photo.

Her new assignment will be a bit out of the ordinary; it seems that her client, to fulfil his fathers stipulation in his will, has four weeks left practically to the day she is assigned this job, to make sure that he has introduced his mother to his fiance, and is then married. The catch is that his mother has to approve of his choice and if he fails, the entire Firm will be given over to another family member, far less capable of running it. Nickys job will be to impersonate a photo-journalist from a Home and Garden magazine and spend that time snooping, on the side, to find out whether Matt really does have a potential wife in the background. He, though, has enough experience, knowing his mother, to figure this entire scheme out and pulls the trick bag out to make everything seems as if there is a possible fiance just off on the sidelines. The problem arises actually when the two cant keep their hands off each other, and Nicky thinks she has come between a man and his fiance. This makes for some chaos, to say the least.

This story was very enjoyable and I loved the way Matt and Nickys characters were written. As secondary figures Frank and Smithy are absolutely great and add by far to the tale. I always like characters written with a good sense of humour and fun loving to boot. The plot was great and the tale came across as very believable. This is just a great romance, definitely recommended reading.
