Cady has been on the run for years and it looks like trouble has finally caught up to her. Beaten by her roommate, Cady hops into King's truck hoping for a ride out of town. King met Cady during a recent photo shoot while in town for his cousin's wedding and all he wants is to return home. King is ready to kick her out until she sees her face and realizes she is not the same spunky girl who had been touching up his makeup and hair. Together King and Cady try to outrun speeding vehicles, bombs, and try to figure out who are the good guys and who are the bad guys. It doesn't help that their attention is divided by the attraction between them.

Alison Kent delivers another well written, exciting story. I was drawn into the story and found myself at the end before I realized it. Cady is not your typical heroine. She has been running from her past all by herself and I thought it said a lot about her character when I found out about her parents. She has weathered more pain and heartbreak than most and still put King's safety above hers. I really liked King's character. His past has not been perfect but he applies what he has learned and makes the best out of what he is dealt. It says a lot about a person who can overcome and learn from past mistakes. The sexual tension between Cady and King is evident and they handle it in a way that fits their personalities perfectly. I loved how Cady surprised King! The suspense is written as a perfect counterpoint to their romance. The plot and pacing kept my interest until the very end. When you think about the plot you realize just how scary and how real Cady's problems were and how it is something that is very real in our society today. I will be reading more books by Kent because she writes fast paced stories with a believable plot that holds my interest and makes me wish the book would never end. The title is a fine example of how you will feel after reading the book.
