Megan is recovering from a long bout of problems with her eyes at her friend's house. It seems infection has damaged her cornea necessitating surgery. She can still only see vague shapes but there's something about the voice and demeanor of the stranger who drops in on her at Sylvia's house that keeps fear at bay. She trusts him, especially after he comforts and reassures her about her eyes.

Portia Da Costa gives us a rather titillating tale of a woman surrendering in the face of a potential enemy! She not only gives up, she's a very active participant in being plundered, pillaged and helping the man have his way with her! I think the author has a lot of fun with this story, I know I enjoyed reading it.

Megan has really had a rough time up to now. Infection in her eyes, deterioration in her vision, surgery, loss of her boyfriend who really didn't sound like much of a loss would be a lot for anyone to handle. Her new friend who is definitely male seems to understand and even be protective of her when he sees her handicap.

The author has some great turns of phrase in her dialogue. Megan doesn't seem to be one for wallowing in self pity. It's almost anticlimactic to find out who Guy really is. But that's ok, the dialogue between Megan and Sylvia when his identity is revealed is fun anyway. This is a really good read.
