| Though she lived in a small Scottish village, Izzy was all things modern. She runs a small internet cafe, prefers Goth fashions, and has a quick wit with a side of snark. With short, spiked blonde hair and heavy black eyeliner, one can only imagine what a two hundred year old Highlander would think of her appearance. Ian MacKinnon has been cursed in stone for over two hundred years, and when he's finally freed, Ian's not sure if the wee creature in front of him is even human. Human or not, she still makes him want to do naughty things.
I am so glad I read the first book of this series, Curse of the Gargoyle, because even though this is a stand alone book, it was so much more enjoyable knowing the back story. The seven MacKinnon brothers were cursed by an evil wizard, because of a woman. Frozen into stone, each brother must be freed by their true love, or spend eternity as a statue. The basic story was very entertaining, add to that a group of hot, kilted Highlanders, some scathingly funny dialogue, evil monks, ghosts, lots of fights and sword play, and you have the ingredients for an excellent book. If this isn't enough to tempt you, throw in some extremely graphic and passionate sex. What more can you ask of a book? I even picked up a new swear, it was hilarious. There were a couple of communication problems between characters that bordered on an eye twitch situation, but all in all, Eyes of Stone is a quick, fun read that was a joy to review and that I highly recommend.
