Kyla MacIntosh is an utter workaholic, and only wants one thing out of life and that is making partner at the law firm where she works. She doesn't have times for relationships or time for the vacation her parents want her to take with her entire family to the lake where they always use to visit when she was younger. But when the vote for partner is postponed, she realises time with her family is just what she needs.

Tag Heller has just moved back to his hometown to play hockey for the national team. However, he's cynical about women and avoids relationships. With so much pressure to perform, and all the press hounding him, the vacation his mother suggests is definitely the way to avoid such burdens. But seeing Kyla again, all grown up, his cynical attitude starts to dissipate. Is she the one?

Faceoff was an excellent book that captivated my attention with its great plot, great characters, as well as the dialogue driving the many characters actions throughout this book as so much had happened to them for them to get to where they are in their lives. The plot flowed brilliantly, and introduced Tag and Kyla as the secondary characters so well in revealing the relationships and friendships they shared. The spontaneousness of both the main characters was what I liked so much about this book. Tag and Kyla are both certain they're not interested in a relationship, but can't deny the attraction that sizzles between them even when they know it's not just them it will affect it something goes wrong in their brief relationship. Not to mention, the sex scenes were hot because they were trying to keep their relationship a secret.

Overall, this author has proven once again why her books are a favourite for me. Well done, Ms Jamieson. I can't wait to read more of your books in the future.
