Believing in Faeries isn't something most people would advertise. But for Luna it is part of her life. She owns and runs the Faerie Cake Junction where she bakes fresh English Faerie cakes every morning and serves them with tea to the many coach loads of people who stop by on day trips.

When she hires handyman Devin Radford, she expects to get just that -- a handyman. But within what seems to be days, she's engaged even if it is just a ploy. She's also found a dead body in her tea room and to add insult to injury her ex-husband turns up telling her they are going to be partners in her business. The sheriff thinks she is a fruit loop trying to again publicity for her business.

Things go quickly from bad to worse for Luna and Devin and it soon becomes obvious that someone has targeted Luna. But who and why remain a mystery. Since the death of his wife, Devin hasn't been interested in women. But something about Luna draws him in. Setting up a fake engagement to keep her safe is his first step in marrying her. He just needs to convince her that he is serious.

There is a lot happening at the Junction but the cakes are always made and the tearoom is always opened despite dead bodies and break-ins. Luna is determined to cope alone and Devin is just as determined to help her. They work well together even if it does take Luna a while to realise it and trust he is nothing like the ex-husband who married her for her family's money. Ms. Griffin's story of magical creatures and mysterious happenings is the perfect addition to afternoon tea and cakes.
