| Maddie’s father was dead. He talked excessively of Sarah before his death. She would have thought him delusional had his eyes not been so clearly focused on her. It was because of his insistence that she went back to the Harcles Hill Farm to search the attic for…what? The article she found led her to the Blue Moon which her father had always told her would talk to her. How would this ‘find’ play into her future?
Maddie found herself transported to another time and face-to-face with a poverty-stricken Sarah. What was their relationship? Why did Maddie find herself married to a widower who vowed to never marry again after he lost his Emily? And how did her current abusive male friend, Cameron, fit into her new “old” lifestyle? This book was unusual to me. This was not my first Michelle Chambers book. I really enjoyed her other works. However, in this case, it was a bit confusing and, yes, perplexing to follow the current versus older situations in this relationship dilemma. The story parts were all there, and the premise was interesting. I just had a hard time keeping the players and circumstances straight in my mind. Even after completing the book, I find that I’m a little puzzled. The elements were dynamic, but the enigma remained. If time shifts interests you, then this book will possibly be an interesting read.
