| When Dominic LaFontaine returns to New Orleans after two weeks away,
the first person he goes is to visit Teresa Ryder, his best friend and
the woman he's been in love with for five years. Something has changed
within Dominic. His time away from Teresa has given him a new
perspective on where he'd like their relationship to go, and he's
finally ready to take it to the next level. He craves her in a way
mere friendship won't satisfy. Unfortunately, while he's been away,
Teresa has started seeing a new man. Dominic is upset, but holds it in
to the best of his ability. He's not giving up yet.
When Dominic meets Vincent Delacourte, alarm bells go off in his head. Something isn't right with Vincent, there seems to be an evil presence surrounding him. Dominic doesn't like the fact that Vincent is so possessive of Teresa either, and when he catches Vincent assaulting Teresa, his worry increases tenfold. He now has the perfect excuse to hold the woman he adores. When he tells her that he'd like to make their relationship more intimate, Teresa is shocked but happy. She's been in love with Dominic since the first time they met and no other man has ever managed to catch her heart, despite her frequent dates. But does Dominic truly want her or is he just jealous? Added to Dominic's tumultuous love life is the fact that he is part of the Fallen, an angel kicked out of heaven because he rebelled. Something bad is going on in New Orleans and just as he has a chance at happiness, he has to figure out a way to keep the peace in the city in which he is an Enforcer. Will things work out for Dominic and Teresa, or is he destined to lose the one woman who can complete his soul? Fallen: Dominic is the third story in Ms. Aaron's Fallen series and like its predecessors, it is a complex and gripping love story based upon some very serious spiritual matters. Ms. Aaron however tackles these complex issues with grace and a delicate and precise writing style, creating a tight story that revolves around a budding love. I was very impressed with the way Ms. Aaron built up a strong love story while at the same time subtly weaving in some very thorny religious issues into the story. However, don't be alarmed. This is not a heavy religious story by any means. Ms. Aaron uses spirituality and its conflicts to build upon Dominic's past and his present. Emotional and hard hitting while still being very romantic, Fallen: Dominic is a superb story that answers some questions about the Fallen while creating many new ones that readers will be eager to have answered in future stories.
