| Thena is tired of being persecuted for who she is. She's a witch, and she's faced adversity for it all her life. She'd moved away from her small town in the south in hopes of blending into a larger city. Unfortunately, it seems to have followed her here too, because she's just gotten fired from her job because her boss was prejudiced about her faith. On her way out the door, she feels something very powerful in the area. She's about to meet something she'd never thought she would, the man of her dreams.
Priapus is on earth for a short period of time to find out what is going on with the demons. He's heard that demons have run amuck with the humans, and they seem to be increasing in strength. Scanning the area, he finds an unusually powerful human coming out of a building. He's finding himself very attracted to her, and is determined to find out more about this unusual human. He's going to get more than he ever dreamed. I thought that Priapus was an great character because he starts out aloof and above all the life going on around him, and by the end is right in the middle of it. He and Thena get along like a house on fire and both of them light up the pages with their passion. Thena is an unusual character as well; she's got a double whammy of prejudice to contend with as a witch and a black woman in the south. I liked both characters, and the story was fast paced and kept me on the edge of my seat. I wouldn't say that you need to read the other two in the series in order to understand what is going on, but it does help. FALLEN GODS 3: LOTUS BLOOMING is a great story that shouldn't be missed.
