| Nikita, a former cop, is now an agent with the Centauri Agency. This is a super secret organization run by one Joseph Black. Black sends her to Iowa on a mission from which she is almost certain not to return. She is to be bait for a demon. However, when she arrives at her safe house, the former god Ares seduces her. He is attracted to not only her beauty, but her warrior-like personality. She manages to get to her appointment on time, but the sheer evil of Julian Artos scared her away. Ares joins with her to fight the demons. Apparently, her new love really was a god, and he is the only one who can defeat Artos, who has risen in power to more than a mere demon.
This novel starts fast and the pace never slows down. The reader is taken on a fast paced trip to an alternate reality where demons and gods exist. The characters are very vividly portrayed, as are the setting in which they find themselves. The sex scenes are plentiful and very hot. This is a very good addition to the Fallen Gods series.
