Princess Alaina is in love with the one man she can’t have, her guard. Since the gentle age of 16, when Alaina was presented with her guard Callan, she has been hopelessly in love with him. And him in love with her. Now they are running for their lives after the King was killed. Fleeing to her fiancé’s castle, Alaina and Callan try to keep their hands to themselves, knowing that if they act on their feelings, it’s a death sentence for Callan and banishment for Alaina. Will their love keep them alive or destroy them both?

A Fall From Grace is full of life, loss, love, hate and every emotion in between. Alaina and Callan’s characters were very well depicted and fully developed. Their love and dedication to each other was pouring off the pages. You could just feel their emotions running through you as you read on. The love scenes are very sensual and explicit. Their first time together was so hot I thought the rain was turning to steam as it hit their bodies. Each joining got hotter and hotter until you thought you were burning up. They were unable to fight the attraction and the uncontrollable lust and love they felt for each other made them stronger.

There are a few graphic and disturbing scenes with forced sexual acts that some may consider rape. Those scenes are necessary to show the evilness and vileness of the villain though. This book is not for the tame of heart. For me, those scenes showed the strength of the characters and their determination for good to triumph over evil.

A Fall From Grace grabbed my attention early on and never let go. If you enjoy fast paced, fascinating, hard-edged books, you won’t be disappointed with this one. Once you are hooked, you won’t be able to put it down until the very end.
