| Cain Hawkins is a Naverto demon. In being this, it's not only considered wrong to have a relationship with another man, but it's a crime resulting in immediate death. This is why for over a hundred years Cain has fought his desires and lived a solitary life healing injured horses. However, when his brother asks him to take on a new employee, he will no longer be able to fight his desire to be with a man. Not just any man, his new employee Luke Forrester.
After his last employer brutally beat him, Luke's just looking for a safe place where he can work with injured horses. When Cain offers him the job of his dreams, there's no way he can refuse, even though he has had a crush on Cain ever since he first met him two years earlier. Luke's determined he will not blow his opportunity at the perfect job, but quickly finds it harder than he ever imagined to fight his growing desire, especially when he finds out Cain is fighting the same battle. I'm not sure where to begin with this one other than to say I loved it. Cameron Dane has succeeded in putting the reader in the middle of all the action. I felt Cain and Luke’s pain, suffering, and passion for one another in such a way that I was unable to put it down. I can't recall ever reading a more passionate, and at times, painful book. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone looking for a nice, sweet love story as this was anything but that. It was at times harsh and very violent with devastating torture and at other times so sexually charged it truly burnt up the pages. I would however highly recommend it to anyone looking for an emotional thrill ride they will not soon forget.
