| Pastor Karema Wright had been building her church for the last seven years and was happy, even though her desire to be a wife and mother was unfulfilled. Then, thank the Lord, her very own Mr. Right appeared in the persona of Deacon Mitchell Pye. Pastor Wright had a real struggle discerning the truth concerning her fiancée.
Pastor Wright’s best friend, as well as another of the deacons, was sure there was something about Deacon Pye that did not fit his assumed spiritual character. His construction business had been moved from Alabama to Florida, but even though his family was still in Alabama, he never visited them nor did they respond when Pastor Wright invited them to come to Florida. The Assistant Pastor of Noah’s Ark Missionary Baptist Church, as well as Deacon Pye, had a friend in the church whose name was Sister Adriana Howard. Assistant Pastor Underwood had no idea Sister Howard was sleeping with Deacon Pye, but the Deacon was alert to the affair because she was extracting information from the pastor to give to Deacon Pye. This relationship, as well as the secondary character interactions, was both puzzling and erratic. However, the reader is aware of the pitfalls in this couple’s upcoming liaison. This book is a great read although I will admit that there were some things that baffled me! When I first started reading this work, I thought it was going to be an inspirational novel. Of course, it didn’t take too long to realize that I missed that point! This is a story which shows that even when you try to live morally and ethically, you can still fall into a trap where you realize that some people are just not honorable! I thoroughly enjoyed the book; Ms. Williams has, I believe, a real hit on her hands. I encourage you to read the book for yourself. It is an easy story to read and get involved with and you will be glad you did.
