Holly Tate has a drunken night out on the town with her girlfriends and wakes to find a strange man in her bedroom who insists he’s an Elf! He is dressed like an escapee from a Ren Faire. She vaguely recalls going into the woods with her friends to conjure up the men of their dreams. But she thought it was just a silly song! Despite the fact she’d really like to have another tumble with the sexy Edan, she decides to save herself the heartache. She makes a sincere wish to send him back to his magical realm. So why is he still visible? Well Edan is a powerful Prince of De’erjia and he decided he wants more…of Holly! Now Holly has to keep her wits and protect her heart from this all too winsome man. Because when Edan goes home the magic they’ve shared will be gone just like a wish on a falling star.

Falling Star Wish is a funny, sexy fantasy complete with invisible dragons, a handsome prince who has handy magical powers and a spunky modern day heroine. Very witty and romantic with just the right touch of steamy sensuality! I enjoyed the snappy dialogue between Holly and Edan. The world of De’erjia was such an integral part of the story that I suspended my sense of disbelief and just enjoyed the magic. Edan was a strong hero and yet was refreshingly willing to “get dirty” to assist Holly. His adventures at her dog grooming business were hysterical. Holly had some emotional baggage to overcome but this only added to the evolution of their love story. The secondary characters were interesting, especially Holly’s young dragon and the other elves who comprise Edan’s family. This was a charming fairytale with a lovely twist that reinforces the hope in soul mates and a love that can! last for all time. Fantasy readers will definitely want to keep this one handy to enjoy again. I wonder if Edan has any brothers? I hope Ms Hanawa has more stories of De’erjia planned!
