Autumn Dawn writes a compelling story that will have readers craving for more. She writes in an easy and flowing style as she tells about Earth's and the Darklands hatred for each other's people. Most of earth is human, but the Haunts living there have to hide what they really are. If discovered, they will surely be killed. Most of the Haunts had moved to the Darklands where they would not be fearful and could transform to their werewolf state, but not all wanted to leave Earth, as it was their home, too.

Rain Miller is a twenty-two year old half-breed, part human and part werewolf. She had a genius IQ that would blow the socks off human's had they known! Rain made gadgets out of useless junk, and her father would sell her creations, but the one time he tried to sell her invention, he had been murdered in her own home. Her father had been leery of humans so he had Rain be prepared to flee at any given moment. Oh, how Rain wished that she had never made that device! Now she had to stay on the run, living in alleys, searching for food, and never getting a good night's sleep.

Fallon was a warrior and ambassador to earth. How he tired of politics! It was a good thing he was retiring to live in the Darklands, to be among his own kind where he could shape-shift at will, then maybe he could finally make his mother happy by getting married--if only he could find that woman!

Rain is captured by the humans looking for her to betray the rest of her people. Humans wanted them gone from earth, but she would never give them the names and locations of their whereabouts, no matter what they did to her. Just then, there was an explosion in the room, then in walked the man that scared her more than the others!
