| Dawn Endeavor is the US military's second successful generation of genetically enhanced super soldiers. However, these soldiers are not just physically enhanced, they also possess psychic abilities. Jesse Fallon has the ability to read anyone's mind but the two people he wants to read the most are Mrs. Sharpe, the team's new director, and Olivia Lynn, the team's new translator. While this is troublesome to him, it's nothing compared to the attraction he feels towards Olivia. He's fascinated by her and is drawn to her like a moth to a flame. Will he find warmth or will he be burned?
I will admit that I am a huge fan of Marie Harte's books. She generally delivers enthralling books that I can't put down until I'm finished. Fallon's Flame was the same way and does not disappoint in the least. While the series is a spinoff of Circe's Recruits, the characters are mostly unknown and with a completely new set of problems, enemies and goals. Nonetheless, the story has all the things you could want in a good romance novel. Ms. Harte has created intriguing characters that you can relate to which is a major accomplishment as the male characters are genetically engineered super soldiers and the strong female characters whose classifications are always a mystery. There is also lots of action and adventure, love and explosively hot sex. As usual, Ms. Harte pushes the boundaries with her sexual imagination. This book is definitely not for the faint of heart or red of cheek as it involves group sex, ménage, and sex in the shifted form. The book sets up the series by leaving you with hints about the other characters and a lot of unanswered questions. Even so, this is a great beginning of what looks like an awesome new series. I loved returning to the world Ms. Harte has created but would recommend reading the Circe's Recruits series first to get a better understanding of this generation's background. I'm waiting with bated breath for book two, Hayashi's Hero.
