Singer Lakon Montgomery can't help noticing the powerful voice of Mya Brooks when he sneaks into the auditorium to hear her sing. Lakon wants her on tour with him; he knows that her voice will make a wonderful addition to his own. Too bad Mya is scared out of her wits of him. He has to get her to trust him; else their new partnership is going to go nowhere fast. Besides that, Lakon is falling in love with the delicate beauty. He wants her like he has never wanted a woman before, a sure sign to him that she is destined to be his mate.

Mya Brooks is very intimidated by the large and masculine Lakon Montgomery. But the more she works with him during their duets, the more she slowly begins to trust him. Mya has been hurt by large men all her life, and though she's still nervous around Lakon, she likes what he makes her feel when he kisses and caresses her. She's never been in a relationship with a man like Lakon before, and when he tells her that they have established a mate-bond, she's not quite sure what to make of him or his statements. All she knows is that she is in love for the first time in her life. She's in love with a man who has vowed never to hurt her. Too bad even the best of intentions can go awry. Lakon's jealousy drives him to hurt Mya in a way he never imagined he could ever hurt his mate. Now he has to look inside himself to see if perhaps Mya is better off without him, or if there is a way he can salvage their relationship. Of course, first he's got to find Mya, who has taken off for parts unknown. Will this duo find the love and forgiveness needed to make their relationship continue, or is this the end for them?

Family Harmony is the second book in Ms. Massa's Montgomery family stories, and like its predecessor, it's a wonderful story. Emotion and tension collide on the pages, ensuring that the reader is in for a great tale. This is not a light read by any means however, so be prepared to be bombarded with emotions that often times run towards the painful and sad. This is not to say that Mya and Lakon don't have their happy moments, because rest assured, there is plenty of romance and love in this story to satisfy any romance fan, but Ms. Massa sometimes shows the more painful side of love, the jealousy and hurt that is the other side of the coin. Nevertheless, this is a great story with a paranormal twist. If you like werewolf tales, you'll definitely enjoy this story, and though it is part of a series, Family Harmony stands on its own quite well. Ms. Massa's unique writing style and intriguing paranormal world are all guarantees that this is a story you won't be able to put down until you're done.
