| Erin, a young Malta werewolf bitch, has been building a den with her littermates, Dimitri and Nicolo Spalto. As Malta werewolves with special powers, they are mistrusted by other packs. Erin, tired of always being on the run, teases other wolves until she is stopped by Juan Anthony. Juan has been watching Erin, concerned by Erin's use of power, which he does not have. As he sees her about to be raped by members of another breed of smaller werewolves, Juan saves her. They realize that they are fiercely attracted to each other and have sex. However, Juan is unacceptable to her littermates because he is is half-littermate to Dante, who wants power. Will power struggles keep the lovers apart?
Far From Innocent is the third book in Lorie O'Clare's series Werewolves Of Malta. Continuing this exciting and sexually graphic story, Erin is a young woman/bitch who unwillingly becomes involved in the power struggle that the male werewolves begin. Although I very much enjoyed the sexual interaction between Juan and Erin, I was rather disappointed to see the lack of character development between the two. Juan is seriously alpha in their relationship and, although, Erin tries, she has difficulty in equalizing their relationship. Once they consummate the attraction between them, that attraction never lessens. There is a great deal of animal-like sexual behavior which appealed to me and my senses. There was much too much fighting and posturing among the alpha males for my taste. I did enjoy the basic premise and the plot flowed smoothly. Although I, personally, would have preferred more lovemaking and less brutality, this book was enthralling and innovative.
