Morgan Tarrant is a psychic and knows from experience that it can cause problems in her every day life. The last experience cost her to lose her job and friends and the bad guy got away. Morgan decides to move to French Creek, Indiana and to start completely over.

Morgan loves French Creek and knows that she finally has found her niche and is very happy. That is until her clerk starts to rave about this new man who has come to town and calls himself the Messiah. She realizes that Melissa is more attracted to this man than she should be, so Morgan decides to pay a visit to the church and listen to his presentation. Morgan is dismayed to realize that Melissa’s Messiah is the very man who had committed the murders in New York and had gotten away with them. Morgan notices another man watching the Messiah, and realizes this must be the new policeman that had come to town.

Gabriel Walsh had moved to French Creek to get away from the big city after almost getting killed on a drug bust. Now he finds himself checking out this new man that has come to town proclaiming to be the new Messiah.

Darien Storm is a con artist, murderer and a little bit psychic. He has come to French Creek proclaiming to be the Messiah. He is determined to milk the town for as much money as possible; if he has to do some murder along the way that doesn’t bother him.

Now it will be up to Gabriel and Morgan to stop Darien. That is if Morgan will let herself use and trust her powers. Morgan doesn’t want to risk her life now that she is happy, but when Melissa gets further involved with the Messiah and ends up murdered, Morgan realizes that she is the only one that is strong enough psychically to defeat Darien. Now she just has to find the strength and to learn to trust the link that she has with Gabriel.

I loved this book, and could not put it down. Ms. Michaels has developed characters so strong that you get totally wrapped up in their pursuits. The plot is very well detailed and amazing, each point is followed and leads you further into the mystery. The way that she shows the developing relationship of Morgan and Gabriel is incredible. The strength these two have and the trust developing between them shows how a true partnership can be if both parties open themselves up to each other. There is plenty of romance, suspense, action, and a paranormal element. I highly recommend this one to anyone who loves a good read.
