Charm is a half-angel that grew up in and out of bad foster home situations and she is determined to make it better for other kids in the system. But JR Thournburn apparently has other plans for the property she is trying to rehab and is trying to force her to sell. After an encounter with Lucky Thornburn who is a Faux Paws or a shifter who can’t shift, she finds an ally. Lucky loves the idea of sticking a thorn in his pain-in-the-butt older brother’s side and he likes Charms idea for the property and he has the skills needed to help. Lucky also likes Charm’s “charms” and intends to spend as much time with her as possible, some of it working on her project and some of it working on her delicious body!

This second Night Critters tale is cute, charming, and beyond sexy. Charm and Lucky’s chemistry is explosive and they fall into bed or where ever they may be as often as possible. But they are also managing to do a good thing in rehabbing Charm’s house to provide a house for a foster group home. Charm may be a half-angel but she isn’t anything like I imagined an angel would be. She dresses Goth, has tons of piercings and tattoos, talks tough and acts even tougher. Lucky may not be able to shift into a werewolf but he still possesses plenty of alpha male traits. The story is fun. I enjoyed the spunkiness of both of the main characters and I loved their unwillingness to just give in to Lucky’s pushy older brother. If you want a funny, quick, charming yet erotic tale to read, this Night Critters series is good entertainment! Faux Paws could easily be read stand alone by why miss out on any of the fun; you’ll want to read the first book first.
