Wendy Miller lived in their small hometown working part-time at her accounting job. She had another part-time job as youth pastor for her Methodist Church. She met with Pastor Warren Carmichael from the Lutheran Church and suggested they work together on their Easter projects.

She knew him well. When she was in high school, he and his wife were their youth pastors. She had died with cancer. Unexpectedly, the two found an instant attraction. It took them both by surprise. Together they decided to explore, slowly, where their relationship might go.

Ms. Stephanie J. Grace has written a fast-paced, very interesting book about two people who suddenly found each other again and something "clicked." I'm not going to explain to you where the title, Felines and Flowers, comes from. You have to read the book for that answer. Their relationship was special and their friends and family were supportive of the blossoming relationship except for her mother. That conflict caused many problems.

These supporting characters were so indicative of a small town. It was hard to hide anything from the church folks and their friends. It was presented in such a way it was as if I was there watching the interactions and dialogue. The manner in which she presented the Gospel was remarkable. It was very much the focus, but it wasn't offensive.

I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good love story—even young adults would appreciate it. This is my first book by this author but it won't be my last.
