| Ethan is a rare type of shifter, a cougar, and he's hunted because of it. He has spent the last eight years on the run just to be captured by the same werewolf pack who held him captive before. Now his only chance of escape lies with an unlikely ally, pack omega Bram. To save Ethan, Bram must contemplate doing something most omegas would never dream of: standing up to his alpha.
Though this is a quick read, there is an emotional depth that belies the short length of the story. The bond between Ethan and Bram forms rapidly but proves to be true and deep. Their caring shows in every interaction through both words and deeds. Not only do the emotions between Ethan and Bram jump out at the reader, but their sexual relationship burns up the pages. Both Ethan and Bram are stronger than they realize and that strength shows when the other needs it most. They complement each other perfectly and together do more than either had thought possible. The plot of the story highlights the growth both shifters experience as their relationship blossoms. The story would not be what it is, though, without the secondary characters as well. These secondary characters drive some of the action, such as the pack alpha deciding to hunt and capture Ethan. His decisions not only open the book, but they bring about the events that end it as well. He makes himself an easy character for the readers to hate and allows them to absolve Bram of the guilt he may feel for any actions he takes against his alpha. This is a fantastic story that captured me from the very beginning and never let me go until the end. Ethan and Bram have become two of my favorite characters and the end to their story could not have made me happier.
