This is supposed to be a love story between Jax and Trev, but it doesn’t really feel like one. They only really interact when they first meet each other, once they get into the training grounds there’s not really time to build a relationship because they are kept separated for the training. I never really felt like they were a couple, more like they were good friends due to the situation. The story being set in a futuristic world was interesting, particularly because women seemed to hold all the cards in that society. However, Lady Ebony was not a sympathetic character and I did not like her, I guess because I never really got to know her. I liked Jax, he had a lot going for him and seemed to be a great guy. Trev also seemed nice, but again there’s not a lot of interaction with him so I never really felt a connection. Most of the story was spent describing the training that they went through to be in Lady Ebony’s stable which was harsh and had BDSM elements. I liked the world that was created, it was detailed and it really came alive for me. If you are looking for a story that does not have a lot of romance, and is set in a futuristic world this is the one for you.
