| Keira Grayson has had to deal with a lot in the past year -– her mum's health scare and ending a bad relationship. Looking forward to her best friend's wedding, she finds herself in the most embarrassing of situations. The spare panties she keeps in her bag have somehow fallen out, and the very sexy best man picks them up and offers them back to her.
Tom Carew is a trifecta of perfection for women, yet he doesn't see himself that way. He's sexy, a doctor and the son of an Earl, still he'd rather be in the jungle of Papua New Guinea than find love. Trouble is, one look at the Keira has him almost changing his mind, even though his bags are packed and ready for his next adventure back to where he has patients he can't keep waiting. Having been the first book I've read by this author, I have to say Ms. Ashley has done a superb job of crafting this novel. She has penned two amazing characters that have both been through terrible times in the past, one of which is still trying to find redemption by distancing themselves from others so they don't find themselves in a relationship. I loved the dialogue, and the interfering secondary characters that thought Keira and Tom would be perfect for each other, so why not get them together. Sort of like the perfect blind date, if ever there's such a thing. The sex scenes were scorching, even though they're being together was only supposed to be a fling and love wasn't in the cards, still it happened and was illustrated brilliantly through this author's words. What I liked so much about Keira was the strength she showed and how having gone through so much in the past, she was still able to go on with life and enjoy it as much as she did. While with Tom, I liked how much he enjoyed his work, although part of it was because he felt guilty about some things that had happened in the past. Finally though, Fever Cure is definitely worth taking the time to read and is a book I'll be re-reading shortly as it illustrates that even in the most embarassing of situations a woman can land the man of your dreams. Surely that trick of dropping your panties by accident works for some!
