Fighting Faer is the 4th installment of Christine Warren’s Fantasy series. It is HIGHLY recommended that you read the previous books first (especially Fantasy Fix and Fur Factor, which are wonderful in their own rights!). This is the story of Corinne and Lucifer.

Corinne D’Alessandro has had an interesting epiphany in the last few months; one of her best friends turns into, and then marries, a vampire, another friend is the mate of a werewolf. Obviously, she accepts that there are things in the world she didn’t know about before, but she refuses to date out side her species.

Lucifer, captain of the Faerie Queen’s Guard, has to find Seoc, the Queen’s Nephew and all around spoiled brat. Seoc has left Faerie, has come to Earth, and threatens the very existence of all Faes if he brings the Faes to human attention. Luc requires the help of Corinne, who he knows is a bit wary of other species. He masks himself as a human but when they give into their desire for each other, the magic no longer works. This is the sign that Corinne is not only a human he desires, but she is his Heartmate.

Add in some action, some duplicitous people, and a whole gaggle of “others” (werecats, werewolves, vampires and fae) and you have a very entertaining book with a little bit of everything for everyone. Ms. Warren’s humor is prevalent in this installment of the Fantasy series and definitely lives up to its predecessors. Corinne has a biting tongue and her temperament is a great match to Luc’s sarcastic nature. Between her distain for the “Others”, and his overwhelmingly superior attitude over Humans, it makes for great arguments! I found myself laughing out loud. The sexual tension jumps off the pages, and the characters are very entertaining. I highly suggest picking up this book.
