| Fighting Fire starts off with a prologue that jerks you right in. You have to read on to see what is going to happen. Then we are introduced to Carmen and Brent. They've known each since high school and have some issues steming from those years. She'd always called him an obnoxious jerk, but even back then she'd had a secret little crush on him.
Carmen is back in her old home town, Rocky Falls, to pick up the pieces from a bad marriage. Her uncle left her The Lucky Hart, a hurdy-gurdy place, that has been a long time tourist attraction for the town. Brent, now the fire marshall, has his own plans for the place. He blames it on his parents break-up and has sworn to keep it shut down. They tumble, literally, for each other the first time they meet after all of those years. Both of them have emotional scars. There are sparks between them, but bigger issues throw up road blocks. I enjoyed watching these two spar and I think you will too.
