Bryce Tracy has been in love with Jordan Diaz for as long as he can remember. Although Bryce considers Jordan's parents his surrogate parents, Bryce hasn't felt brotherly feelings for Jordan in a long time. As the new chief of the fire department, Bryce works with Jordan on a daily basis and knows that he can't continue to keep his feelings to himself, yet when Jordan threatens to join the neighboring town's department, Bryce knows he has to act fast even at the risk of upsetting community board members and Jordan's very irate father.

Now that her father is no longer the fire chief, Jordan is determined to gain a position as a volunteer fire fighter. She may not bet he son her father has always longed for, but she has always had the Diaz burning desire to fight fires. When Bryce allows her become part of the team, she never expects for her father to disown her, or to find Bryce possessively protective of her. Can she show the men in her life that she is just as capable as being a firefighter as any other qualified man?

This is a sweet romantic story. Bryce is madly in love with Jordan and his dedication and perception to her needs is heartwarming. I liked how he was able to reason with Jordan, to be her friend and her lover and support her as a firefighter. The interesting element was Jordan's own obliviousness about Bryce's feelings. She's always considered him competition for her father's affection and when Bryce proves that he puts her first, Jordan finds out what it means to be accepted totally for herself. I liked the chemistry between the two, it's rare that characters are true friends in romance stories before they pursue a love interest. While the love scenes were pretty light for my tastes, those who enjoy a good story will find Fighting for a Dream a pleasurable read.
