| Much has happened to Hope Jennings in her life. Some of which she doesn't remember and some she'd rather not remember at all. Her work as a photographer has brought her success and her latest assignment reflects that. This assignment puts her on edge but more so the effect that Luke has on her. And to add to that she's receiving threatening phone calls.
Lucas Romanov takes care of security for the Santiago family. He's to collect Hope and take her to their home in Cuba to photograph and then on to meet the family in Miami. He's aware of the reasons behind them contracting her to do the photos but nothing could have prepared him when he meets her in person. There is a lot going on in this story. There's a thread woven throughout the story while another runs along side until they become entwined. I felt the focus was on Hope. I had a love/hate relationship with her. She irritated me at times. At others times, I felt sorry for her. We get to know the story behind Hope but never really get to feel for any real emotion from her. Likewise, the hero Luke and the other secondary characters appeared rather wooden and two-dimensional some of the time. I felt sorry for Lucas on more than one occasion. He was considerate but has alpha tendencies that I found endearing. The loves scenes sizzle with sensuality. Nevertheless, I did really enjoy Finding Hope with it's interesting plot that kept the pages turning. I just felt the characters needed to be three-dimensional. I'm looking forward to reading more books by Katie Reus she has potential to be a superb suspense writer.
