In the meantime, Valerie has met the hunky Dylan while playing beach volleyball. Though she has been rebuffing his physical advances up until now, today is supposed to be his last day before going home. Dylan chooses to press his advances just enough to overcome Valerie's initial resistance and the experience only draws them closer. Dylan decides to stay longer to explore what he has with Valerie.

I really enjoyed this story. Not only did the author draw me into the characters and their lives, there were several surprises that turned my assumptions of what was going a tad upside down. The characters were excellently portrayed and the story just flew along. Michelle Hoppe has a great voice and the sex scenes were hot without being trite or feeling as if they were the focus of the story. This is a great treatment of the merfolk mythology.

I really enjoy it when I get surprised by the author and the story takes a slant I hadn't predicted. That and the well thought out merfolk world were really what set this story apart in my eyes.
