Sofia Angelou inherits a twenty acres wooded estate when her oldest friend dies. Coming out of a seven year bad relationship she moves there to begin her life anew. She feels ready to begin a relationship that this time makes her happy. She starts by joining an internet chat site where she is introduced to many men trying to start a romance. Never really meeting anyone that sounds right for her.

One evening she notices a fire off in the woods and believes she sees the outline of a man. So far from her closest neighbor she should be frightened but she feels compelled to go and investigate. When she arrives at the bonfire she finds herself in one of her most desired erotic fantasies. When she awakens she believes it has all been a dream except for the curious marks on her body which she dismisses. She begins to experience erotic dreams of a dark knight and the passion they shared. When she meets her nearest neighbor she is surprised by his resemblance to man of her dreams.

The Fire in Starlight is an eerily dark erotic romance that will allow readers to safely experience the extremes in a domination and submission relationship. Readers will be forced to face situations that may be outside of their comfort zone as the witness the freedom and abandonment that comes as pain and submission turns to blissful release. Readers will share in the poetry that is written that helps to explain the emotions and inner thought processes of the characters as they face their darkest desires.

This is an extremely erotic novel in which the characters share many activities that may make some readers uncomfortable. Readers should be aware that this story describes situations in which spanking, whips, and total submission are used in the characters passionate relationship. Curious readers may want to read it just for the experience that may awaken their own dark desires.

This fast paced wonderfully creative story is strangely hypnotic. It enthralls the reader through its poetry and its background story sucking readers in deeply and allowing them to share in the emotions of the characters. There very few stories that have the power to draw readers in the way this story does. Readers are encouraged to seek out The Fire in Starlight by Maria Isobel Pita.
