Someone is trying to sabotage GreenTex Oil Company. Unexplained explosions are wiping out oil wells and sometimes killing unfortunate drillers who happen to be near by. But who is attempting to put GreenTex out of business and why?

After an unexpected divorce from his wife and the loss of his first and only child, GreenTex is the only thing of importance Jake Green has left in his life. He's occupied his life with nothing but the company. Women are the furthest things from his mind. That is until he meets Kate Black.

In an attempt to save the family land left to her by her father, Kate Black has signed a lease with GreenTex allowing the company to drill for oil on the land. When one of the wells strikes oil all of Kate's money troubles is solved. But it isn't the money she's really concerned with. She's falling for Jake Green. Despite the sexual affair that develops between them, Jake is insistent that he wants nothing to do with a true relationship. Certain that she can never let him go Kate struggles to help Jake forget the past and love again.

This is a story of pain, mistrust, and learning to move on with life. The losses Jake Green has suffered make it easy to understand his reluctance to hand over his heart to another woman. Though she knows from the start that chances for a relationship with Jake are slim, Kate finds herself loving him more than anyone ever before. With a perfect balance of romance and suspense, author Ann Jacobs has created a story with a group of characters that is sure to entertain.
