| Rachel Milo watches sadly as her neighbors, one by one, sell out to Wolfe Development. There are two holdouts left, her and Cole Karson. Rachel doesn't want to see the land around the lake developed. She inherited her house from her grandfather and wants to keep it. But Wolfe Development continues to pressure her to sell. She knows Cole's holding something back, and strives to find out what that is while continuing to fight against Wolfe Development. She learns the secret he has and almost loses her life and him.
This was an enjoyable and intensely sexy read. The author has created a beautiful setting and describes the area and that of Cole's home quite well. The reader feels both her pain and her intense attraction to Cole. The author has done a good job in creating Rachel and has also drawn Cole as the quintessential hero but with a secret side. After Rachel's home burns, this novella quickly heats up, both in the romance department and in the danger as Rachel fights both for her property and her life. The story comes to an exciting and very satisfying conclusion, but not without the reader poised at the edge of her chair. I enjoyed this and would read more by this author.
