The very last thing Sophie Hayes wanted was to spend the days before Christmas in her family's secluded cabin with Lucas Rhys. She has avoided him since a mix-up led to their making love eight years ago. Now the fates and Sophie's loving family are conspiring to throw them together. When Lucas is coerced into directing a love scene between Sophie and a gorgeous actress, things may really come to the boil.

Eva Keane's holiday tale captures the flavor of Australia, where Christmas comes at the height of summer and nobody is interested in drinking hot chocolate by the fireplace. Instead, the characters frolic in the pool and Sophie's white bikini is guaranteed to bring Lucas's libido to the fore. It's a different feel to a Christmas story, but one that captures the spirit of the season, albeit in a different way.

I loved the book, particularly the familial warmth of the Hayes family and the protectiveness of Sophie's older brothers. If everyone had some, the dating world would be a safer place, at least for girls. But when Sophie and Lucas get together, the sparks really fly. Lucas is sexy and devastatingly handsome, making it very hard for Sophie to keep up her end of the feud. In fact, when confined in the cabin by the weather and car problems, she does a very bad job of it, leading to the first, very hot, love scene in the book. The only questions throughout is whether these two people who are so obviously made for each other will realize it in time.
