Police Chief Shane Moore¢s already warm feelings for Jessalyn Banks intensify when she is targeted by a stalker who attacks her best friend. Shane finds that he does not know everything about the prim and proper Jessalyn who was a few years behind him in school. Jessalyn finds that the boy she had a crush on as a teenager is a whole lot more attractive as an adult. She has to guard her heart as well as her life as the town¢s Fourth of July celebration approaches.

I loved this romantic suspense story. The two main characters are very different from each other, one is a former football star turned police chief and the other is the daughter of the town¢s most prominent family. She is anything but a social butterfly and takes life just a bit too seriously. Shane¢s determination to win Jessie is pretty impressive and the love scenes are very sensually written, they will definitely warm you up. I really enjoyed reading about his single-minded pursuit of Jessie and her struggle to not fall in love with him. The stalker and the danger following Jessie and her friend Nancy definitely had me biting my nails. I never knew when something else would happen and the climactic scene was everything it could be. I definitely recommend this totally engrossing romantic suspense tale.
