Jess and Aiden have been happily married for years now. They’ve always made the Fourth of July their special day. Every important event in their life as a couple has happened on this day. Their first date, first kiss, their wedding, etc. But Jess has recently discovered that they have been growing apart these last few years and she’s worried if Aiden will make it back in time for their anniversary. Is there still hope for them?

Fireworks on the Fourth is a very sweet and emotional short story that is very easy to read. Telling the story from the first person’s point of view made the story even more personal. It helped me to connect to Jess and to understand her more. It also added an extra special little touch to the characters. It made it even easier for me to see Aiden as Jess does. Easier to see the love and devotion she has to Aiden and their family.

I found the characters to be remarkable, Jess in particular. It was an exciting experience for me to be able to feel the emotions she had over the years and how they developed and grew with her love for Aiden. If you enjoy light fun reads that will start your day off on a good note, this is the book for you.
