Emma Feltman is a witch with a problem. Her self-imposed abstinence is interfering with her ability to prove herself as a worthy mage to the clan matriarch, Aunt Anne. She and two cohorts are dispatched to do damage control when a local werewolf is accidentally killed, but things don't go quite as planned.

Theodore "TJ" Jackson is a coroner caught up in a situation with the potential for disaster with rival werewolf packs in the area. Emma is doing her best to keep him with her where he'll be safe until her powers are sorted out. But as one would imagine, a witch with powers on the fritz and a handsome man making her libido go haywire is going to have some interesting mishaps.

I thought this was a very cute tale with a lot of potential. The characters are likable and I immediately felt like Emma and TJ were going to be great together. There was an emotional factor, sexually-charged bantering, and an interesting back story.

However, as the story progressed, it seemed to me like the author was trying to shoehorn a perfectly fine witch story into the werewolf genre and that's a shame because those parts just didn't really mesh well with the teasing dialog and character development of TJ and Emma. It seemed like the end was rushed, as though she didn't really know how to wrap up the lovefest or maybe she hit her word count and that was it. Also, the timeline in the story was a scant day which made the ending seem all the more hurried.

I would have much preferred TJ and Emma to have more time to figure each other out rather than plod through the startling action scenes at the end that just didn't seem to have anything to do with the emotional conflict between Emma and TJ. The sudden arrival of extra characters came with a deluge of back story that I did not think added anything to the story line.

All in all, I did enjoy this book and feel the author has much potential. I would pick up another book by her.
