Singer McLaine, adopted daughter of Sean Broghan, followed in her father's footsteps by becoming an FBI agent. When he sends her on an undercover assignment to rescue two detectives, he believe's she is the best person for the job, and he hopes she'll fall in love with Evan Wolcott, one of the detectives being held in a warehouse. When she rides around the pier looking for the detectives on her bike in the disguise of a boy, she runs into a guard dog where they were being kept. When she runs into the warehouse to escape the dog, she's hit with a baseball bat and thrown into a barred room with the two detectives. She and Evan are immediately attracted to each other and begin worrying about each others' safety.

Unfortunately, when Evan fails to bring her a pizza personally after telling her he'd buy her one, she takes it as a sign that he meant nothing more than friendliness and goes home where she begins dating various men left and right. Several months later, her father and boss assigns her to pose as a bride with a man who has business dealings with a criminal. That man turns out to be Evan Wolcott.

I really loved reading this book. It was fast-paced and very well-written. It's the type of story that, even when there isn't much action going on, you still have to keep reading to see what happens to the characters. This is a book I could easily see sitting on the shelves in Barnes & Noble; it has the same type of quality as some of the good romantic suspense authors. The romance, while turbulent, was very real and easy to imagine. First Sight to Last was dramatic and very emotional. The ending was as happily-ever-after as it could get, especially after what the characters went through. I love a story that pushes the characters through hardships without torturing them, then gives them the ideal HEA. First Sight to Last fit the bill perfectly.
