| As the first daughter of her age, it is left up to Alithia to find the ancient relic her family needs. To do so she must choose husbands to go along with her on her conquest. Alithia is instructed she must travel to the mountains realms for the tablet of mysteries. She can’t ask anyone else to take her place. She realizes the danger and refuses anyone else to take on the responsibility. The tablet holds what they need to know about the kindling of the holy fire, but first she must pick two husbands. Phelan and Taith are shield brothers that Alithia selects for her husbands. They are the only two who give her complete pleasure and delight her among all the other men. Phelan and Taith go along on her conquest to find the tablets. Alithia’s only concern is, if she will be able to retrieve the tablets for her clan, and if the three of them make it back alive, will Phelan and Taith end their contract with her, or stay with her forever?
I found Flame Seeker to be absolutely an interesting read. When I first read Alithia had to choose husbands, I was as shock as she. I could visualize the expression on her face. The way she went about the procedure, in choosing, was unique in its own way. This story is quite stirring, and the journey the characters take to recover the tablets is thrilling. Kay Danella pens a story as if she has taken the expedition herself. The challenges the characters face show their courage and determination to succeed. I was almost on the edge-of-my-seat at the ending wondering what would happen between the three. A great plot, in-depth characters, and a well-written read make this a book to hold onto.
