Angeni is a healer from the planet Olandia. She’s currently working as a healer for the alliance, and when they brought a man in that was brutally wounded at the end of her shift, she wasn’t sure she would be able to save him. She was worn out from her long hours, but one look at him and there was a strange compulsion to save him. She found herself doing things that she would have never thought possible, and when she finally allowed herself to stop, it was only because she had saved him. While caring for him, she found that she could communicate with him telepathically, something she’d only been able to do with animals previously. She knows that she’s getting too involved with her patient, but she just can’t seem to stop herself. Then she finds out he’s got a fiancée…

Garek has a mission to complete and a woman that he’s been promised to back home, and it’s a commitment that he can’t avoid. When the beautiful healer saves him and speaks in his mind, he knows he’s in trouble because of the feelings she makes him have that he just can’t ignore. That’s why he decides that it’s time to leave, before he makes a mistake that he could never take back, and would affect far more than just his life.

There’s plenty of action and adventure in this story, it certainly keeps you on your toes. Angeni is a strong woman who knows what she wants and will go after it. One of the great things about her character is the strength she shows, and the fact that she also knows when to let go and not hang on. Garek is a great character too, with a strong sense of duty and love. I always love it when I really want to see the main characters get together, even against terrible odds. I only touched on a small part of the story, there is a lot going on, with flying warhorses, intriguing worlds and more, but it all seamlessly blends together to make a great story that you won’t be able to put down. Angel and the Flying Warhorses is a wonderful book that will grab you from the first page and not let you put it down.
