Chaylene Walker has a decision to make. Having lost her parents 6 months before and then inheriting the beautiful old family home, she needs to decide just what is to be done, with her future, her home, her business. Her idea to make the wonderful old place into a Bed and Breakfast runs into a few problems but she has gumption and the determination to see her idea through. Her spontaneous query of a handyman in the local diner is a start in the right direction, in more ways than one.

Having spotted Travis Cutter through the diner window and allowed to feast her deprived eyes on the man who reeks even from a distance of sheer male magnetism, Chay finds herself in an unusual state of extreme lust, right from the start. A few hours later, and over the next few weeks she also finds herself doing some very unusual things, like attempting to seduce him. Insolent, macho, very sexy Travis likes what he sees and he can feel that there is something very strong binding the two but wants their business relationship to stay as such. There are certain things Chay doesnt know about him, and he keeps putting off bringing up the subject. Sometimes a man can be overwhelmed when he least expects it.even when he tries to be steadfast.

The author writes with such descriptiveness that one gets a feeling of the house and how it must have been long ago, with the smells of baking, the sound of footsteps walking down the hall, the odd bits of furniture that one doesnt even see any more, even in antique shops. It brought memories of my own grandmothers old house, built around the turn of the last century, around 1900, to mind. The relationships described I could also see as very realistic; lack of communication can very often be a central problem in many families. And I do confess that I had an urge once or twice to bop their heads together when listening would have saved the situation, on both sides.
